The Women’s Empowerment Fund (WEF) aims to build the resilience of women and their families, improve gender equality, and support the development of livelihoods by providing vulnerable women increased access to high quality financial services and education.

1.1 million clients have been provided with microloans by leveraging nearly $148 million in equity to support $694 million in loans disbursed.

2,451,802 people, including 1,071,933 children, have benefited from our Child Protection projects since they began. In FY19, 443,907 new people benefited. These numbers include beneficiaries from projects not featured in this report or that have already closed.

Thanks to your generosity, in fiscal year 2019, World Vision responded to 132 disasters and humanitarian emergencies in 58 countries, providing humanitarian aid to more than 20 million people through the support of donors and partners worldwide. Since FY16, World Vision has reached 65.3 million people with emergency relief.

During fiscal year 2019, (October 2018 through September 2019), the following projects were supported by the Strong Women, Strong World Fund. The Burundi Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Project provided access to clean water for 48,045 people in FY19 by constructing five piped water systems, rehabilitating one water supply water system and 59 water springs, and equipping eight boreholes with hand pumps.

The Women’s Empowerment Fund aims to build the resilience of women and their families, improve gender equality, and support the development of livelihoods by providing vulnerable women increased access to high quality financial services and education. The fund is facilitated by VisionFund, World Vision’s microfinance network.

The Christian Discipleship Program’s training is having a transformative effect on how churches, schools, and communities create loving environments for children and youth to grow and thrive.

2,053,929 people benefited from ministry activities since October 2015, including 196,581 during the first half of FY19. This includes parents/caregivers, children, and community members benefiting directly and indirectly.

The Global Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Program remains on track to reach 20 million people with clean water by 2020. In the first half of FY19 alone, we reached 1.2 million people with clean drinking water, more than 1 million children and adults with improved latrines, and 1.6 million individuals with hygiene education to help prevent the spread of WASH related diseases and even death.
