Thanks to you, in the last four and a half years, more than 8.5 million women and girls have benefited from programs that are enabling them to live safer, healthier, and more productive lives.

World Vision was able to declare and initiate a global response just one hour after COVID-19 was declared a pandemic on March 11. With our global positioning, expertise, and long-term relationships with communities and partners, we’re responding to COVID-19 in nearly 100 countries, providing relief assistance to 43 million people, including more than 22 million women and girls, as of July 10.

Strong Women Strong World serves as a connection for women and men worldwide who recognize that women’s empowerment and gender equality are key to lasting social change and essential to the well-being of children, families, and communities.

During the first half of fiscal year 2020, the following programs and projects were supported by the Strong Women Strong World Fund: Water in Rwanda, Child Protection in Kenya, Women's Empowerment Fund, the Syrian Refugee Crisis.

Thanks to your support during fiscal year 2019, World Vision expanded and deepened our work with children, youth, and their support structures— church ministry leaders, parents, and caregivers—to help every child grow in relationship with Jesus and encourage them to help others do the same.

3.5 million people benefited from ministry activities since October 2015, including 1.69 million during FY19. This includes parents/caregivers, children, and community members benefiting directly and indirectly.

We are pleased to share this 2019 annual report on World Vision’s Global Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Program. It’s been a year of tremendous impact for the most vulnerable, and we continue to learn and improve our efforts to ensure quality and sustainability. World Vision exceeded our yearly targets by reaching 3.4 million people with sustainable clean water, 2.6 million people with household sanitation, and 4.3 million people with hygiene behavior change promotion efforts. We also reached an additional 900,000 people with clean water during emergency situations.

Thank you for providing WASH for vulnerable children in Africa. Together, we are transforming millions of lives. In FY19 alone, the World Vision Africa WASH Program exceeded its annual targets while increasing efforts to achieve a higher standard of programming quality.

10.76 million people have been provided with access to clean drinking water since October 2015, including 2.35 million in FY19.

Our Mother and Child Health projects are bringing true change and exciting results. This wouldn’t be happening without your faithful support. World Vision joins thousands of families in thanking you.

893,303 women and young children were provided with access to maternal and child health and nutrition services since the project began in FY16. This includes 319,205 women and young children in FY19, 211,640 of whom are children younger than 5.

The THRIVE (Transforming Household Resilience in Vulnerable Environments) model continues to deliver life-changing results as a key part of World Vision’s global livelihoods strategy and economic empowerment work.

1.5 million people were provided with access to economic empowerment since the beginning of the project, including 324,145 during fiscal year 2019.

The Women’s Empowerment Fund (WEF) aims to build the resilience of women and their families, improve gender equality, and support the development of livelihoods by providing vulnerable women increased access to high quality financial services and education.

1.1 million clients have been provided with microloans by leveraging nearly $148 million in equity to support $694 million in loans disbursed.
