Progress Report: Fiscal Year 2021
(October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021)
In its fifth and final year, the Jiboner Jannya (Well-Being of Life) project has had much to celebrate. Children have been removed from the worst forms of child labor.
Families have been strengthen by improving parents’ ability to earn income and care for their children.
And faith leaders have been mobilized to help change behaviors and end harmful cultural norms, and influenced local government representatives to create a safer environment for children in some of the poorest areas of Bangladesh.
Sahida, mother to 16-year-old Rana, speaks for many of those families when she says, “When I felt helpless, the [Well-Being of Life] project stood for my family and helped my son withdraw from child labor so that he might reclaim hope for life. We’ve come a long way since then. Thank you so much for allowing us to live in a dignified world.”
