Pat and Lyné became involved with World Vision as child sponsors in 2012 and joined the NLC in May 2013. They partnered with other NLC members to establish Giving in Motion, a team supporting the West Gonja ADP in Ghana, where they have visited on Vision Trips. The West Gonja community has been close to their hearts, and after they visited refugee camps in Jordan in 2017, the Emergency Relief Signature Initiative became important as well. In addition, Lyné has a special place in her heart for child labor and child protection issues after returning from a recent trip to Bangladesh. They also sponsor education for orphans in Moshi, Tanzania, with Make A Difference Now.
Pat attended San Diego State, where he played baseball before being drafted by the San Diego Padres. After five years pitching in the minor leagues and a “cup of coffee” in the big league, he had to leave baseball due to an injury and began a career in sales and marketing. He has held various senior-level positions with a variety of firms, including Ralston Purina, Mattel Toys, Hasbro, and some small private equity companies. He is currently focusing full-time on their nonprofit, Giving In Motion, and has recently joined the advisory board for Make a Difference Now.
Lyné graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s in mathematics before starting her career in sales at Procter & Gamble in Atlanta. She is currently vice president of eCommerce at The Clorox Company, where she is the general manager of their online business. She also serves on the board of Proverbs 31 and is an elder at their church.
They have a blended family with three grown children: Josh, Cody, and Kendall. Pat and Lyné enjoy long walks with their yellow lab, Buster. Both are members of San Ramon Presbyterian Church.
Fun facts for the couple: they love being at the beach, snow skiing, and wine tasting.
