Bio/Story

Patty has been involved with child sponsorship and helped to bring Chosen to her church. In addition, she headed up a 6K water walk for four years and took her first Vision Trip to Honduras in November 2025. She loves the way World Vision gets things done in such good ways!

Patty, now a widow, was happily married to her amazing husband (Dennis) for 50 years. He sadly passed away suddenly in 2023. When she is living in her Nevada residence, she is just across the street from her daughter and son-in-law and her three grandchildren. She also has a son and daughter-in-law who live in the San Diego area.

Patty is a retired elementary school teacher and loves day hiking in the Sierra Nevadas. She has also recently started kayaking on calm water lakes. She would rather be outside than inside and enjoys gardening. In addition to outside activities, she also loves cooking good food for her family and friends. Patty has been involved in Young Life for over 20 years, is a group leader in a Bible Study Fellowship, and is on the Missions team at her church.

A fun fact for Patty includes several backpack trips, including hiking across the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim and Mount Whitney (in one day). She has also backpacked portions of the John Maher Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, and Colorado Trail, as well as hiking in Switzerland, Austria, New Zealand, and Ireland!
