    Bio/Story

The couple's extended family has been involved with World Vision for decades. Andy took his first Vision Trip in 1999 to Mexico City. Later that year, he spent a summer in Ghana working with a well-drilling crew. Since then, he has been to Kenya, Ethiopia, China, Zambia, and South Africa with World Vision. Kirsten's first World Vision trip was to Honduras in 2006. She has subsequently travelled to Kenya, Haiti, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Mexico, and Zambia with World Vision. Their favorite Bible verse, James 1:27, sums up their hearts for the poor: "Pure religion is this, to care for the widow and orphan in their distress."

Andy studied Government at Cornell University and Kirsten studied Political Science and Environmental Studies at Emory University. Andy has worked in finance and sales leadership for about 20 years at American Express, Capital One, and now Homes.com, where he is building the national sales team. Kirsten worked at World Vision for six years and helped build Team World Vision into a national program.

The couple has two amazing boys. Lincoln is 12, and Hudson is 11. They love doing anything outdoors. They are excellent climbers and love climbing trees, but are also on Peak Scramblers, an indoor rock climbing team in Richmond. You can find Andy and the boys playing golf or mountain biking most Saturday mornings, and they all enjoy a good hike. Kirsten homeschools Lincoln and Hudson and holds leadership roles in both of the co-ops her boys attend.

Fun facts for the couple: Andy ran a marathon in Nairobi, Kenya. Kirsten was the field correspondent for the World Vision Gift Catalog tour in 2011.
