As Devex reports, “The eight-year campaign is designed to significantly move the needle on the first six SDGs — striving to end poverty and hunger while ensuring good health, quality education, gender equality, and clean water.”

“In Oklahoma City, residents picked up free food boxes at a church that later became a vaccination clinic to inoculate against the coronavirus.

“In the Democratic Republic of [the] Congo, faith leaders demonstrated getting their temperatures taken in front of their congregations to model best practices for avoiding virus spread.

“Across the country and the globe, World Vision is continuing a multi-pronged effort to meet the needs of people facing the health crisis and the secondary effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

A firsthand account from World Vision India staff about the devastating second wave of COVID-19

Though many of us in the U.S. are starting to see the pandemic in the rearview mirror, the COVID-19 crisis continues to wreak havoc around the world — especially in India, where a devastating increase in cases has overwhelmed the healthcare system. In this video, Mridula Narayan, a World Vision communications associate, shares about the new devastations rural communities are experiencing as the second wave moves from urban centers into remoter regions.

In India, World Vision is working to reach the most vulnerable families with essentials like medical equipment to deliver oxygen, beds and tents for emergency health facilities, and more.
