A story of hope amid hunger

Gloved hands hold a screening band around a baby’s arm, indicating a red box.

Hamdi arrives at a World Vision nutrition clinic to be treated.

At 7 months old, Hamdi weighed just 8 pounds when her mother sought help at a World Vision nutrition clinic in Somalia. She was severely malnourished — a heartbreakingly common story amid the current global hunger crisis. But Hamdi’s story shows us that God’s hand is still at work in the world’s toughest places.

Celebrating fully funded upgrades to healthcare facilities in Zambia

A smiling woman holds a baby in front of a wall that reads “World Vision”

Zambian healthcare facilities that will serve approximately 1.1 million people are getting much-needed improvements.

The vision was bold: upgrade 125 healthcare facilities in Zambia by 2025. Many lack basic necessities like access to clean water and proper resources to prevent diseases from spreading.

Our aim was to upgrade every healthcare facility in all the areas World Vision is working in Zambia. This means clean water on site, showers, flush toilets including access for people with disabilities, training and equipping of health personnel, and the tools to help prevent the spread of infections in and around these communities.

We’re thrilled to say we’ve finished the funding ahead of schedule — all 125 clinics are on track to become healthier, safer places for Zambian communities by 2025! We’re thankful for the faithful response and continued prayers of our donor partners, which are truly impacting the lives of vulnerable children and families.
