When I was a child, nothing compared to the experience of Christmas — the family gathering together, brightly wrapped presents, houses and trees decorated, lots of music and singing, and good food. Can you just feel the excitement?
Now, as an adult working for World Vision, nothing compares to the experience of the THRIVE 2030 Forum — the World Vision economic empowerment family together, presents like reports of progress and new program developments, decorated seminar halls, lots of prayer, and good food. Can you just feel the excitement?
I have had the privilege of visiting many parts of our world, and few can match the beauty and majesty of the Pacific Northwest in the summertime. That is why we selected a waterfront site in Tacoma, Washington to host the THRIVE 2030 Forum. If you are an interested investor in our THRIVE 2030 business plan — either financially or in prayer — please consider registering now to join us August 23 and 24.
I’ll see you in Tacoma!
Register today for the THRIVE 2030 Forum
Join us in Tacoma to connect with other passionate donor partners, staff, and experts who share a collective commitment to ending extreme poverty.
On August 23 and 24, the THRIVE 2030 Forum will present a personal and immersive economic empowerment experience. Delivered in person by the World Vision staff who design and implement the programs, you’ll hear updates on the THRIVE 2030 business plan and discover how it accelerates the journey of families, particularly women and girls, out of extreme poverty. Additionally, we’ll review the synthesis results of the external evaluations of the original THRIVE 2030 country reports.
On Thursday, August 22, we are offering an optional one-day Biblical Empowered Worldview experience that will include a robust, interactive session encapsulating the essence of this transformative training.
We have reserved a block of rooms at the Silver Cloud Hotel Tacoma at Point Ruston Waterfront. Registration must be completed by July 24 in order to access those rooms at our special price. Please do not delay!
We are pleased to present you with the THRIVE 2030 semi-annual report, which can be accessed by clicking here. The report covers the first six months of our fiscal year, which is October 1, 2023, through March 31, 2024.
As can be seen overall, our programming is progressing well, and our totals are slightly ahead of our anticipated targets for the half-way point of the year. Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, Senegal, and Viet Nam have all begun their work in this period. Start-up activities are on-track and are nearing their expected completion. The four main components of the business plan are underway in most countries now. At the same time, as we expect in a new program in new countries, not everything has started well everywhere, and we are making the necessary adjustments and corrections.
If you have comments or questions about the report, please contact your World Vision representative, or email directly to us at ee@mail.worldvisionphilanthropy.org.
