A view from the Shore

The calendar says that summer is nearly over. The thermometer at my house says … something different. But the calendar does remind us that we are getting very close to an event that happens every 2 years — the THRIVE Forum in Chicago.

If you are reading this newsletter, then I want to invite you to the THRIVE Forum. It is a gathering of our donor partners, experts, our technical partners, and people interested in learning more about THRIVE.

Maybe you have wondered:

  • What is the THRIVE model?
  • Does the THRIVE model work?
  • How big is the THRIVE program?
  • Why are THRIVE donors so excited about this model?

If so, this is your chance to both learn about THRIVE and to meet our amazing THRIVE community of donors and experts — please join us.

We are meeting at exactly the half-way point in the 8 year THRIVE 2030 Business Plan. So you will be hearing updates on how we are doing in hitting our ambitious targets aimed at ensuring 10 million people in 11 countries have access to the tools they need to lift themselves out of extreme poverty.  Instead of only hearing about or seeing videos detailing the THRIVE model, we will actually experience two of the foundational components of THRIVE. We will all be trained in (a part of) the Biblical Empowered Worldview. Through a "game" we will all experience what it is like to be members of a Savings Group. We will be right in downtown Chicago and will be taking in iconic Chicago culinary delights.

And don’t wait too long to register. We have a block of rooms reserved at the Voco Hotel. The special hotel rate connected with registration will expire on the September 21.

So, please register, and I look forward to seeing you in Chicago!

THRIVE Forum 2026 Invite

Our keynote speaker

The keynote speaker at the THRIVE Forum will be Katherine Leary Alsdorf. Katherine co-authored the book, “Every Good Endeavor: Connecting Your Work to God’s Work” with Timothy Keller.

We wanted the THRIVE Forum to be not only fun, interactive, and informative, but also edifying and encouraging for Christians who are ministering in and through business. We asked some of our friends and settled on asking one of today’s leading voices on the integration of Christian faith and business.

Please take a look at these book reviews, which also provide something of an overview of the content of the book.
