Pregnancy and childbirth are especially risky for women living in poverty
More than 800 women and 7,000 newborn babies die every day from pregnancy and birth related complications - mostly due to lack of basic health information and proper care. To make matters worse, nearly half of health clinics in the developing world don't have soap or clean water.
"For safe and joyful delivery of babies, World Vision has committed to provide clean water, hygiene, and sanitation in 800 rural health care facilities serving 7.2 million people between 2019-2021. They are ahead of schedule having reached 399 facilities in the first year of this commitment. Life should not end at birth." -Dana Dornsife
