The United Nations estimates that nearly 300 million people will need humanitarian assistance in 2024 as a result of conflict, extreme weather, natural disasters, and other emergencies.
Nearly 35 million people in 39 countries are facing emergency levels of hunger. As a result, child hunger levels are the worst they’ve been in generations.
1 in 73 people in the world are forcibly displaced. This figure has doubled in the last 10 years. The number of refugees is now at a record high of 36.4 million, with over half coming from Afghanistan, Syria, and Ukraine.
Today, 1 in 5 children around the world are living in or fleeing a conflict zone.

BEFORE. Before emergencies happen, we work with communities to develop disaster preparedness plans that map out local threats and identify how to save lives and protect property — increasing families’ readiness and resilience.
DURING. When a crisis hits, our global staff activate pre-established logistical assessments, plans, programming standards, and pre-positioned supplies from warehouses strategically located worldwide to help children and families get the support they need.
AFTER. After the initial response, we work with communities over the long term to establish permanent housing, sustainable clean water, food security, access to quality education and healthcare, and recovery loans to rebuild livelihoods and restore children’s sense of security.

World Vision is the largest implementing partner of the World Food Programme, which won the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize for "its efforts to combat hunger, for its contribution to bettering conditions for peace in conflict-affected areas and for acting as a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war."
We’re distinctively capable of responding quickly, collaboratively, and holistically to virtually any emergency anywhere. Our local staff in nearly 100 countries, our Global Rapid Response Team, and our strategically located pre-positioning warehouses around the globe mean we’re able to respond to disasters within 24 to 72 hours, delivering food, water and sanitation solutions, relief supplies, and shelter.

Our partners
Your gifts are used strategically to mobilize funding streams that increase our impact. Think of seed money or venture capital, which is leveraged to apply for and secure additional funding—usually from government and international organization grants—to maximize the yield for each dollar donated and, more importantly, expand our support for people in need.
